My Whereabouts
As you can tell, I haven't posted in a few weeks and for that I apologize. Work and after-work activities have taken me away from these internets, but now I'm back and hopefully I can keep a more active website. So you know, the 29ers surged towards the playoffs, winning our last 4 games, 3 by way of mercy rule, scoring over 20 runs in each of the mercy contests. Great way to end the season.
So other than work and softball I've also been busy on the weekends and currently planning a trip to LA and San Francisco in October. My cousin is getting married in Los Angeles (my dad's side lives out West) and a good friend just moved to San Fran, so it looks like I'm going to San Fran for a weekend, then making the scenic drive down the PCH, hopefully in a convertible. Gonna make stops along the way, like Big Sur and see if guys are out surfing Mavericks, but I'm open to any ideas you may have.
Check out HBO's Flight of the Conchords, some original and funny stuff. There are clips on that site and some on You Tube. And since I've already directed you to HBO, make sure you watch the documentary on the Brooklyn Dodgers, called Brooklyn Dodgers: The Ghosts of Flatbush; it's another great piece by HBO.
I haven't forgotten my music of course. I'm looking to eventually start a record collection and stumbled into Joe's Record Paradise in Rockville the other day while looking for some 45's for my friend Jimmy's birthday (he owns a jukebox). Let me tell you, that place is paradise and awesome. A music junkie's dream, so go if you haven't already; and if you have, go again. The White Stripes concert is next weekend and I'm psyched for that. I also thought I'd give you my favorite albums of 2007 so far and those that I recently found or put in rotation. So here goes:
- Kings of Leon - Because of the Times
- The White Stripes - Icky Thump
- Dinosaur, Jr. - Beyond (this album rocks)
- J-Dilla - Ruff Draft
- North Mississippi All-Stars - Hill Country Revue (2004, live from Bonnaroo and an incredible record)
- Ambulance, Ltd. - Ambulance, Ltd. (2004, what a great album)
- The Faces - Five Guys Walk Into a Bar... (4 disc box set, can get it for $34.97 on Amazon.com right now)
