Playoffs? !

Yes, playoffs; softball playoffs, but playoffs nonetheless. The Burtonsville 29ers begin their quest for their first Montgomery County Softball Championship today at 6:00 pm at Olney Manor #4 against Papa John's, a team which played in the Wednesday 6/14 League. A win would find the 29ers playing the winner of the Georgetown Insurance/St. Andrew's Kim Catholics at 5:40 on Saturday on Field #3. A loss in the double elimination tournament would pit the 29ers against the loser of the G'town Insurance/Catholics at 8:00 pm on Friday on Field #5.

The team will be without star shortstop Michael McCabe, as he has been designated for assignment for a wedding in North Carolina (who schedules weddings during softball season anyways?) and potentially without left centerfielder James "J." Harne on Saturday for a wedding as well. The team hopes to not have J on Saturday.
